MERU: BEING SERIES (Current Project)
This Installation is part of the 'Being Series' artworks. The work consists of an everyday setup of street roadworks barriers placed around a section of broken up sidewalk. As with the other works in the series, the surface of the ground is animated to expand and contract, perfectly mimicking the natural rise and fall of a resting breath.
Driven by an series artificial breathing mechanisms, the sculpture involves cutting edge engineering technology from the film, auto and aerospace industries. The series is on-going and keeps on developing as it investigates further our perception of the nature of existence.
