WHILST YOUR SLEEPING STUDY 2007
Installation: 5th Avenue, Manhattan, NYC USA
This work is a smaller study of its counter part 'Whilst You’re Sleeping'. Made on 5th Avenue in the middle of the day, this work uses all natural water pressure straight from the fire hydrant, through a series of hoses and then out through a constrained brass fitting. The water was pumped up approximately 65 ft into the air and also runs off in to the streets drainage system. Compared to the larger work this piece existed for a much shorter time and was held in place by a person. This later study changes and simplifies the context of the work to a more directly human-made event.
