BLUE SALT PAINTINGS 2000-10
The fabrication of these paintings begin with mixtures of super saturated salt solution and ultra iridescence water colour inks, which changes from liquid to a crystalline state as it dries. The patterns are created through extremely precise reactions between pigment compositions, salt levels, paper weight, form, temperature and evaporation. Once dried, the artwork will continue to ebb and flow in colour and form, based on atmospheric conditions. The paintings reflect ideas surrounding physical metamorphosis and personal preferences of like and dislike as the viewer decides where to install the work.
